Why $250 Wii might be good for '07
Considering that the Wii & PS3 will sell out regardless this holiday, just like every other console launch, and given the fact that it will be the holiday season of '07 that will give us a clearer picture of where the big three will be standing in the future.
With that in mind I concluded that the $250 launch price for the Wii sets it up very nicely for the holiday season of '07. Given that it will be making a profit right out of the gate Nintendo would be able to cut $50+ of the price tag by the holiday season of '07.
Sure by then the Xbox 360 could have a good price cut but the PS3 will definitely not be able to pull it off. Besides the focus in '07 will be to attract the non-gamers and with a decent price tag cut on the Nintendo Wii it could very well have the '07 holiday seasons already in the bag.
